HLA-Forum - 5th March 2003

The Department of Department of Technical and Business Inforamtion Systems organizes together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation on March 5th 2003 in connection with the conference “Simulation and Visualization 2003 the 5th Magdeburg  HLA Forum.

The HLA centre of competence, aided by both of the organizers and supported by the Department of Geo-Computer Science at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster as a strategic partner, wants to represent a platform for the exchange of information in the field of simulation, HLA, their application as well as related technologies. The HLA Forum has been

taking place since 1999 regularly.

The developments in the area of HLA are stepping on and HLA can be considered an established architecture for distributed simulation. Beside the classic application field of military simulation more and more civil spheres as planning, controlling and training applications concerning logistics, production or disaster control make use of the possibilities provided by HLA-based systems. The projects that deal with the exploitation of synergy potential by connecting HLA with other technologies led to progress as well.

The 5th Magdeburg HLA Forum traditionally applies to users, suppliers, scientists, teachers and interested persons who are actively involved in the field of HLA or want to get informed about its use. A main goal of this year’s HLA Forum is to provide a platform to the German HLA community of all application fields for exchange of ideas an d experience. Each participant has the opportunity to present and to discuss projects, systems, prototypes, concepts and visions. The number of contributions is not limited as usual.

According to the speaker’ wish the lecture can be published in a conference volume which is handed over to the participants during the HLA Forum. In future these and later arriving documents shall be available in an electronic way. Contents and form of the contributions are up to the responsibility of the speakers. The low formal and time-related requirements should help to guarantee a high relevance to the present of the contributions.

We recommend to submit the  reference publications additionally on a direct way to the conference “Simulation and Visualization 2003”, one main topic of which is dedicated to the distributed simulation.

You are warmly invited to take part actively or passively in this forum. To assist our organization efforts we ask you to provide the following information in time:
